Came home today from a fun day, playing at our favorite tree park, to enjoy spanakopita (my favorite breakfast as of late) and a yummy DIY blueberry latte. Mind you, the spanakopita was made in the air fryer.. quick, crispy, and every crunchy bit of delightful as any breakfast should be.
The blueberry latte was just that. Quick and delightful. A perfect little pick me up with an added flavor of blueberry.

Okay, end formality and read on to learn how to make a Blueberry Latte!
What you need to make a blueberry latte:
- 2 cups and 1 bowl
- Strainer
- 1/4 cup frozen blueberries, heated in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds. Frozen blueberries are best because they release the most amount of water when heated.
- Your desired amount of coffee: I went with 1/2 cup regular black coffee. 2 shots of espresso would be good for this, otherwise.
- 1/2 cup of milk, your choice. I’ve mentioned before in my first DIY latte article that the best are: 2% or whole cows milk, Soy Milk, or Oat Milk. Coconut milk is hard to froth but feel free to use if that is not important to you.
- Milk boss
- 2 drops blue food dye + 1 drop pink to bring out that purpley color.
- 1 tsp (or more) cinnamon to sprinkle on top
Directions:
1. Place your blueberries into a microwaveable bowl. Take out carefully, and mash until there is blueberry juice. Set aside.
2. Have ready in 1 cup hot coffee or espresso.
3. In the other cup, heat milk in the microwave for 1 minute 15 seconds and be careful taking it out. If you like hotter, heat again for another 30 seconds.
4. Take your bowl of blueberries and strain blueberry juice straight into the hot milk. Here is where you can add extra food dye if you want a more vibrant color.
5. Use the Milk Boss and froth away! It can get messy, but it’s okay!
6. Pour your blueberry froth into your coffee or espresso. Sprinkle some cinnamon.
7. Enjoy!
