We did a crazy thing yesterday: me and Beckham drove to OCMD for the day. The beach trip was planned less than 24 hours prior to departure, and we weren’t so shore it was going to work out. You be the judge after scrolling through our photos.
Firstly, why did we go? Well, why not! Can’t a toddler sit in a car for three total hours to pop pop’s beach spot? Can’t he enjoy the beach all day only to return late at night after missing his nap and normal bed time? Can’t he survive without his favorite toys and TV shows for nature?
My friends, I don’t suggest this every day. A lot of effort was given but we had so much fun!
We had two major melt downs (at Wawa stops of course when he had to give up his milk carton at checkout) and complete exhaustion by night’s end. A tidbit for someone also itching for a mini road trip: play their favorite TV show on bluetooth. We aren’t that fancy with screens in our vehicle, and plus, using the bluetooth we can pretend it is like an audiobook. It works perfect!
Today as I post this, Beckham is a cuddly little bear and is playing more independently as the day progresses. He’s probably sick of me but you’re welcome little sir 🙂 .
First row parking! Yes! So excited for the beach, Beckham had to bring his blankey. “Beesh, beesh.” That’s right buddy, we are at the beesh.
A tractor clearly drives by with some friendly hello waves. Was he more excited for the tractor or the beach at first glance? We will never know..
The water was such a green, emerald color. The sky was the bluest I’ve seen in a while! This sight alone made the entire trip worth it!
Remember how I said that this trip was less than 24 hours planned? I tracked this tent down 12 hours prior to leaving. At 8pm Wednesday night I went to go pick up this Sunbuster tent from L.L. Bean. It was their last one in stock, and it felt like a promising sign for our trip.
The Sunbuster tent takes less than one minute to set-up alone. The packaging is convenient as it comes in this cute-looking beachy bag. The price is very affordable and this should last us for the years to come! If you are looking for great beach tent, I highly suggest this one:

After rolling out the tent, all you have to do it pull two strings at the top and connect the two top pieces; almost like pulling a bow to a bow-and-arrow. After it clips, it’s ready to be staked!
Bring out your toys after settling the tent. Let the fun begin!
It was the most perfect weather, with an extra breeze!
Don’t forget a cozy towel and some fun sunglasses!
He learned really fast why you don’t throw food at the birds.
Because they started attacking us 🤣
“Shoo shoo!” He kept yelling. I nudged him to the water because otherwise he would’ve kept throwing the crackers. He was cracking up.
We collected some sea shells per Tommy’s request.
And this view we enjoyed for quite some time until home.
I’ll tell ya another thing, this beer is mighty delicious and crisp after a beach day. Stella Artois Solstice Lager. Enjoy.
