Happy New Year! Goodbye, 2020. So many things to list that we are thankful for, and we have a bunch of favorites to share. Ya know, so we can help you enjoy 2021 a little more!
Let’s just pray that this covid vaccine works, and that the elimination process of this dang bug has started, for real. Like I’ve said before, I am a homebody and actually enjoy being home.. 🤓. Call it weird, but that’s just who I am. Being home this much, though.. it is just not okay.
I want to travel- to see the world. Especially while Beckham is young, now is the perfect time for us to do so. So when we can, we will! Beckham also deserves to be in an environment with other kiddos now to create relationships, but in the meantime he will have to make do with his parents at home all week 😝. And for those who are currently home schooled, I feel for you. We are almost there! I can feel it!!
Without further ado, some favorites we’d like to share are as follows:
- Favorite 3 wines of 2020
- Favorite 3 beers of 2020
- Don’t judge us, we’re just keeping it real and drinking responsibly.
- Favorite 3 Netflix Series
- Favorite 3 face masks, Ulta or Target accessible
- Favorite 5 places to order out
Random. And that’s okay because you know why!? These all got us through last year in some way.
Wines
Okay, so I was never a big wine drinker for many reasons. I will say that- when you have an amazing glass, and great ambiance, it does make a difference. Now, here I am, 2 years into parenthood telling you (my friends) which wines are our favorite. Take it or leave it 🥳. What I rate our favorite is based off of price, taste and availability. I can’t give a professional rating but just trust me on these. Also, these selections are based off of a dry taste. Sweet = too much sugar, and have you ever been hungover on sweet wine? 😩 no thanks. Don’t do it.
1. Casillero del Diablo- Malbec
2. Whispering Angel- Rosé
3. Boom Boom – Syrah – Charles Smith
Beers
Beer is definitely an acquired taste, and this selection chosen is really delicious (from the girl that doesn’t like beer.) It’s fun to have when you go out to eat with friends. Or in covid times, it’s nice to have on a Friday night with some good pizza or wings. You see what I’m saying? I never had someone explain to me what good beers are and for this selection: you’re welcome friends out there who are in the same boat as I once was. Calories don’t count, but again, price, availability and accessibility do 🤩. Oh, and I am really into those Belgium beers.
1. Allagash White
2. Weihenstaphaner
3. Guinness! ☘️
Netflix Series:
1. Down to Earth– with Zac Effron. This series teaches us the different cultures of the blue zones, and their appreciation for foods. Preparation, reasonings as to why their lifestyles are healthy. It’s a fascinating series and one that makes you think! (Thanks Meghan for the recommendation )!!
2. Death to 2020– a satire on how the rest of the world viewed America in the last year. Really eye opening with how Covid played out, and a reminder of how the year began (remember those fires in Australia??). High Grant, Samuel L Jackson, and Phoebe from friends all play a fabulous character in this series.
3. Room on the Broom- this adorable movie got Beckham through Halloween. I really enjoyed watching this also, and I believe it’s a book that it’s based off of. The music, the emotions, and the colorings of this claymation is just so stinking adorable!
Face Masks
It’s all Pacifica. I swear by this brand! Their ingredients are vegan, and they don’t test on animals. Their ingredients are also quality, but their prices are amazing. Put them all in your shopping bag and don’t look back!! Grab your wine we recommended, and wear a mask! And then, watch some Netflix. There’s a method to the madness here! I got you!
Where to order out?
1. Collegeville Bakery– the white Sicilian pizza is to die for 🤓. Or any pizza.
2. Trouble’s End Brewery– a brewery with top notch food and great service, count me in. Their food is the reason we come back! And the atmosphere, if you’re into cute vibes 🥳. This is truly a hidden gem.
3. Marzellas – the buffalo chicken pizza. Every time.
4. Firebirds – this is a chain, but guess what! You can order takeout in a unique way; they have their own butcher shop. We order often their ribeye steaks that have already been dried out for 21 days for like $15 each.. and then for about $5 each you can get angus beef burgers raw with buns, seasoning, and complimentary bread and butter. Their meat is so freaking good. Kids meals… hint hint… such as their salmon are less than $10. Total hit!!
5. Lucky’s Last Chance, Manayunk – the best burgers. And Mac and cheese. Pickle monster and the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, yes yes yes!
These are all splurges. Every single thing on this webpage. Please, do me a favor, thank us in person for the recommendations 🤓
