Caution: you might spill some milk.
Coffee shops are closed! Surprise, right? Starbucks is not, but they certainly don’t make cute lattes like a small business owner shop. I still love you, Starbucks!
I miss that little pop of art. It’s like a treat. It makes the price worth it when you splurge for a latte to have a little happiness on top.
Here is a very simple way to make a latte at home. Treat yourself to DIY luxury. Your kids will even love the leftover milk but hold the coffee for crying out loud. Maybe give them hot chocolate instead?
Just a note: there is an affiliate link for the Milk Boss Milk Frother. I love this thing and I feel strongly enough to write about it! Yes, I have an expensive latte machine that froths its own milk, but I went ahead and purchased the Milk Boss wand because I wanted my milk even frothier.
First
The *best* frothing milk is 2% cow’s milk or whole fat cow’s milk. There is a reason that Starbucks uses this as their primary milk choice.
If you are dairy-free (which I chose to be most of the time) then you want to go with Soy milk or Oat Milk.
Coconut milk I LOVE, but to froth this is a headache and it does. not. work. We are striving for perfection, here.
2. heat desired amount of milk in mug 2. I heated mine in the microwave for about 2 mins.
3. take milk boss and blend that hot milk, woo!
4. hold the wand about 60 degrees to 45 degrees
5. Blend, blend, blend for about 1.5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired frothiness!
6. Pour milk into your espresso or coffee.
