Last week at Home Goods shopping, I came across this blanket. Before walking into this store I told myself, stay away from the cozy blankets and pillows. But guess what? At the end of an aisle, this blue and white striped worn-linen blanket caught my eye. And so this story began.
Before going to pick it up and determining if we really needed another folded thing in our home, I did a lap or so to get what was really needed. Hhmmmm, that blanket really would be so cute for the beach or pool, though.
After my last lap at Home Goods, the blanket magically appeared again in another spot. Blue and white stripes, with those worn edges folded up just waiting for me. I picked it up. The label said “scented,” – this is a trick don’t smell the blanket. Spoiler alert: the smell was heavenly. Imagine what a warm hug smells like. Or, imagine the smell of a warm perfect sunny day at the beach. It had this warm and cozy citrus/amber smell, so of course it made its way into my shopping bag. At age 34 I bought another cozy blanket for home.
It turns out that this is such a cute accessory for the outdoors; this blanket is super light and soft. It looks rugged, but who wants perfect anymore.
Today we went to the cherry blossom field, and you bet I brought this lovely blanket with us to sit on in the shade! Follow us along 🙂
We have to bring this bike because if you’ve ever watched “Trash Truck” on Netflix, you’ll see that there is an episode called Four Wheels and Flies. Cutest little series to watch with your little one. The backpack is packed with dump trucks – in case we see some rocks, stay tuned.
A hobble, skip, and jump and we are almost to our favorite cherry tree park..
If you look closely in the above photo, it was literally raining the pinkest of petals.
Here we are! We’ve set up our spot under the shade on this hot, humid day of spring. As we placed our blanket, that delicious warm citrus smell perfumed the area for a brief second.
The first dump truck made its way out, and Beckham made himself at home – because as you’ll see there’s a sea of rocks that he loves to play in.
He also has to trample on new things now. If you know Hank from Trash Truck, then you know.
A big ball of blanket formed between the wind and Beckham running over it.
After the little bugger searches and collects his rocks..
He fills up his bike tray, and then we take them home.
Uh oh, look who showed up on his work break! Daddy! He came without a shirt, so we drew one on can ya tell!? Ha ha!
Before we go home, we soak the view. In Beckham’s words, “Bye TCHREES.”
